Questions
Do I need an HDB permit to install SPC flooring?
HDB's guidelines list vinyl flooring as work that needs no permit. Hacking or replacing floor tiles does need one. Check HDB's current guidelines before you start.
Can I install SPC in a new BTO flat?
You can lay SPC in living areas and bedrooms. New flats have a 3-year restriction on removing bathroom and toilet wall and floor finishes, and we recommend keeping tiles on wet bathroom floors in any case.
How much does SPC raise the floor?
By the plank thickness, 5 to 6.5 mm, plus underlay if you add it. Check that doors still clear the floor.
