Does my condo have renovation rules?
Most condos have management rules on renovation hours, deposits and noise. Check with your management office before work starts.
Which thickness is quietest for neighbours below?
6.5 mm has a bonded 2 mm IXPE acoustic layer that reduces impact noise. 5 mm and 6 mm can take separate foam underlay.
Which thickness should I choose?
5 mm is the default for most homes. 6 mm has a heavier core for heavy traffic or for laying over existing tiles. 6.5 mm adds a bonded acoustic layer for neighbours below.
Should the kitchen get SPC too?
SPC's rigid core does not swell when wet, so it can go into a kitchen. Wipe up standing water, because it can reach the joints. Keep tiles on a wet bathroom floor.
How is skirting priced?
Skirting boards are $5 per 2.4 m strip. We estimate the running length from your floor area; the installer measures it on site and quotes the fitting separately.
