Landed questions
Can SPC go over existing tiles in a landed house?
Often, yes, when the tiles are sound and level. The installer checks the floor on site before you book.
Does the labour rate change for a large house?
Yes. Approved installers charge $0.50 per sqft from 1,000 sqft, instead of $0.60.
Which thickness should I choose?
5 mm is the default for most homes. 6 mm has a heavier core for heavy traffic or for laying over existing tiles. 6.5 mm adds a bonded acoustic layer for neighbours below.
Should the kitchen get SPC too?
SPC's rigid core does not swell when wet, so it can go into a kitchen. Wipe up standing water, because it can reach the joints. Keep tiles on a wet bathroom floor.
How is skirting priced?
Skirting boards are $5 per 2.4 m strip. We estimate the running length from your floor area; the installer measures it on site and quotes the fitting separately.
