The rules behind the numbers

How each line is worked out.

PlanksYour area plus 10% for cuts and offcuts, times the price for your thickness.
UnderlayWhole rolls of 322 sqft, enough for the plank area.
LabourThe approved installer rate on your area: $0.60 per sqft under 1,000 sqft, $0.50 from 1,000 sqft.
TrimsAbout one 2.4 m strip per 150 sqft, a stand-in for your doorways. The installer counts the real number.
SkirtingAbout 18.5 running feet per 100 sqft of floor, in skirting boards of 2.4 m at $5 each. Fitting is quoted by your installer.
MeasuringHow to measure your floor and add wastage
Removal and levellingHacking, screeding and removal of old vinyl or parquet are quoted by your installer after seeing the floor.

About the estimate.

Is this estimate a quotation?

No. It uses our published prices. Send it to us and we reply with a written quote for the same lines.

How is skirting priced?

Skirting boards are $5 per 2.4 m strip. We estimate the running length from your floor area; the installer measures it on site and quotes the fitting separately.

Can I use my own installer?

Yes. You can buy planks, underlay and trims from us and use your own installer. Our approved installers charge the published labour rate.
