Can SPC flooring be used in kitchens?

SPC Flooring for Kitchens: Water, Cleaning and Daily Use

SPC flooring can be considered for kitchens when spill habits, cleaning routine, edges, appliance movement and existing floor condition are reviewed. It should not be treated as a floor that can ignore standing water.

Why it matters

Kitchen floors face water, oil, cleaning and appliance movement. The product route and edge details matter more here than in a bedroom.

Kitchen use is different from normal rooms

A kitchen can expose the floor to repeated spills, cleaning and appliance movement. SPC's rigid core helps, but the full installed floor still depends on joints and edges.

Spills should be wiped promptly.

Appliance movement can mark or stress the floor.

Edges near cabinets and walls need planning.

A kitchen quote should show details

The quote should make kitchen assumptions visible: area, existing floor, cabinet edges, transition strips and whether the kitchen is used as a dry or wet working area.

Send photos of the sink and appliance areas.

Mention cleaning habits and leak history.

Do not compare kitchen quotes by product colour alone.
