Why it matters
A good SPC product can still perform poorly when the room condition and installation details are not controlled.
Mistake 1: ignoring the subfloor
SPC is rigid, so it can transfer stress when installed over uneven or unstable surfaces. The floor below must be checked before the plank is judged.
High points can push the joint.
Hollow areas can create movement and sound.
Loose tiles or debris can affect the finished feel.
Mistake 2: forcing the lock
The lock edge is precise. Rough tapping, poor angle control or damaged cuts can weaken the joint before the room is even finished.
Damaged edges can become gaps later.
Poor cutting can leave weak corners.
Installation method should match the product profile.
Mistake 3: using the wrong layout route
Enoch does not install SPC flooring in herringbone, fishbone or chevron patterns. Those angled layouts create different joint stress and need a different board system.
Use straight plank or standard staggered layout for Enoch SPC.
Confirm layout direction before scheduling.
Do not copy decorative wood-floor layouts onto this SPC route.
Mistake 4: skipping movement planning
A floating click-lock floor needs space and clean edge detailing. Tight walls, poor transitions or heavy fixed points can restrict normal movement.
Doorways and cabinets need early review.
Perimeter finishing should be planned with the installer.
Expansion and transition details affect long-term joint behavior.
